Away from the road:
The “island of fire” houses many spectacular natural phenomena. That’s why, in 1993, it was the first complete island to be declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Because of its vicinity to the Equator, the water temperature doesn’t sink below 18°, even in winter. That’s why there is such a large selection of water sports on offer.

There is a beautiful tour that starts in the peaceful coastal resort of Puerto Caler and takes you through the winegrowing area of La Geria. You get a fabulous view of Fuerteventura from Balcon de Femés. Another highlight of the tour is the Timanfaya National Park. The lunar landscape created by the Feuerberge here is really impressive.
